Partner disclosure

Transparency is part of the SmileGeorgia Pro™ service promise.

SmileGeorgia Pro™ works commercially with selected dental clinics in Georgia.

When a client comes to a clinic through SmileGeorgia Pro™ and completes dental treatment there, the clinic pays SmileGeorgia Pro™ a 15% marketing commission under the agreed commercial model.

We want to state this openly.

As a client you have the right to know how our service is funded and whether our commercial relationship can affect which clinics are presented to you.

1. How does SmileGeorgia Pro™ earn money?

SmileGeorgia Pro™ partner clinics pay us a 15% marketing commission on completed dental treatment for clients who came through SmileGeorgia Pro™, under the agreed commercial model.

Our principle is that the same 15% commission applies to all of our partner clinics. We therefore do not, as a rule, receive a higher percentage from one partner clinic simply for directing a client to that particular clinic.

The commission funds the operation of the SmileGeorgia Pro™ service, which includes among other things:

  • international marketing
  • identifying and assessing clinics
  • client advice
  • communication between the client and the clinic
  • coordinating the treatment trip
  • customer service before and during the trip
  • developing the patient journey and digital services.

SmileGeorgia Pro™ is not a dental clinic. The dental treatment itself is provided by the clinic the client chooses.

2. Does the 15% commission affect which clinic we recommend?

The size of the commission is not intended to determine which clinic is presented to a client or which clinic passes verification.

Because the commission principle is the same 15% across our partner clinics, the intention is to reduce the financial incentive to favour one partner clinic over another because of a higher percentage.

When we look for a suitable clinic or treatment option for a client, the assessment may take into account, for example, the treatment needed, the dentist’s expertise in that treatment, the clinic’s technology, the materials and implant systems used, patient safety, price, treatment schedule, language services, aftercare, and the client’s own needs and wishes.

A commercial partnership does not in itself mean that a clinic is the best option for you.

3. How does clinic verification work?

SmileGeorgia Pro™ is developing a consistent, documented verification process for clinics. The aim is to assess clinics against the same predefined baseline criteria regardless of the volume of commercial cooperation.

Where possible we check, for example:

  • the clinic’s basic details and operations
  • dentists’ qualifications and special expertise
  • the treatments offered
  • the implant systems and materials used
  • diagnostic and digital technology
  • sterilisation and hygiene practices
  • surgical facilities and procedures
  • transparency of treatment plans and prices
  • patient safety practices
  • the service process for international patients
  • aftercare
  • the approach to possible complications.

A clinic cannot buy SmileGeorgia Pro™ verification by paying a higher commission. Verification is not, however, a guarantee of the success of any individual treatment or of a particular medical outcome.

4. What does a clinic’s status mean?

SmileGeorgia Pro™ may use different statuses alongside clinics on its website.

Partner candidate

Partner candidate means that the clinic is under assessment or that possible cooperation is being discussed. Partner candidate does not mean that the clinic has passed SmileGeorgia Pro™ verification.

The status describes the stage of the verification process — not the size of the commission the clinic pays us.

Verified clinic

A verified clinic has been through the verification process used by SmileGeorgia Pro™ at that time and has met the criteria defined in it.

Verification is not a medical guarantee and does not guarantee the outcome of any individual treatment.

Commercial partner

A commercial partner has a commercial cooperation relationship with SmileGeorgia Pro™. Commercial partnership and verification are two different things.

A clinic does not receive verified status merely on the basis that it pays SmileGeorgia Pro™ a marketing commission.

5. How is the order in which clinics are presented determined?

The size of the marketing commission a clinic pays SmileGeorgia Pro™ is not intended to determine the order in which clinics are presented.

Clinic visibility and the options presented to a client may be affected by, for example:

  • the treatment the client needs
  • the clinic’s special expertise
  • verification status
  • availability of services
  • price level
  • treatment schedule
  • language services
  • the client’s personal needs.

If in future we offer a clinic paid advertising visibility or sponsored placement, such content will be clearly marked, for example with the word “Advertisement” or “Sponsored”, so that it can be distinguished from other clinic presentations.

6. Does the client pay the 15% commission to SmileGeorgia Pro™?

SmileGeorgia Pro™ receives the 15% marketing commission from the partner clinic under the agreed commercial model.

The treatment plan or quote given to the client must clearly state the price of the dental treatment, the payment terms and who the treatment is paid to.

We do not claim that the marketing commission never has any effect on a clinic’s pricing, because clinics decide their own pricing. That is why a client should always look at the final total price of treatment, not just the advertised price of a single procedure.

SmileGeorgia Pro™ aims to make total costs as transparent as possible before the client decides to travel.

7. SmileGeorgia Pro™ does not make medical decisions

SmileGeorgia Pro™ is a marketing, information, advisory and coordination service. We are not a dental clinic and we do not replace a dentist.

Diagnosis, the suitability of treatment, the final treatment plan and all medical decisions are made by the treating dentist or another appropriately qualified healthcare professional.

A remote assessment or preliminary treatment plan may change once a dentist has examined the patient and the necessary diagnostic information is available.

8. Personal data and health data

Planning a dental treatment trip may require processing personal data as well as health data, such as X-ray or 3D images and treatment history. Health data is a specially protected category of personal data.

How such data is collected, used, stored and possibly passed on to a clinic is described in more detail in the SmileGeorgia Pro™ Privacy Policy. Please read the privacy policy before sending health data.

9. Your rights as a client

We want you to be able to make your decision on the best possible information. You can always ask us:

  • Is this clinic a commercial partner of SmileGeorgia Pro™?
  • Does the clinic pay SmileGeorgia Pro™ a commission?
  • Is the clinic already verified, or still a partner candidate?
  • On what basis is this particular clinic being presented to me?
  • What is included in the stated price of treatment?

We will answer these questions as clearly as we can.

Transparency before sales

The SmileGeorgia Pro™ principle is simple: you should not have to guess why a clinic is being presented to you.

  • If a clinic pays us a marketing commission, we disclose the commercial relationship.
  • If a clinic’s verification is still in progress, we say so.
  • If something material has not yet been confirmed, it should not be presented as a verified fact.

You make the final decision. We help you get the information you need to make it.
